The Discounts tool in Indy Admin allows you to create and manage discounts that can be applied to tickets, items, memberships, gift cards, or vouchers. Discounts can be configured to operate at POS, online, or be linked to membership and promotional offers.

🧭 Where to Find It

Navigate to:

Settings → Promotions → Discounts

💸 What Can Discounts Apply To?

  • Tickets – e.g., Adult, Child, or specific showings

  • Items – e.g., concessions, merchandise

  • Membership Intervals – e.g., discounts on movie clubs or renewal intervals

  • Gift Cards & Vouchers

🧾 How Discounts Work

  1. Discount Types

    • Percentage: Reduce the original price by a set percentage (e.g., 10% off)

    • Fixed Amount: Deduct a fixed amount from the original price (e.g., $1 off)

    • Target Amount: Reduce the price down to a specific value (e.g., set price at $1)

  2. Availability

    • POS-only or available online (customers can enter a code)

    • Discounts can be applied automatically or require a redemption code

  3. Redemption Controls

    • Limit the number of redemptions

    • Restrict by date range, time of day, or specific showings/events

🧾 Creating a Discount

  1. Create Discount

    • Enter a name and (optional) description

    • Select whether it applies to Tickets, Items, Membership Intervals, Gift Cards, or Vouchers

    • Choose automatic application or redemption code entry

    • Decide if it's available online

  2. Set Value

    • Choose percentage, fixed amount, or target amount

  3. Set Restrictions (if required)

    • Restrict to specific ticket types, title classes, movies, or showings

    • Limit to item types, item classes, or variations (for concessions/merchandise)

    • Conditions can include time of day or Buy-One-Get-One-Free offers

  4. Reporting Options (Ticket Discounts Only)

    • Enter distributor-facing descriptions so discounts appear correctly on Box Office Reports

  5. Save

    • Discount will appear in the Discounts list and can be toggled on/off

🧠 Best Practice

  • Always use clear discount names so staff can easily identify them at POS.

  • For membership-linked discounts, ensure membership logic matches restrictions.

  • For online-only discounts, test codes before public release.
