The Voucher Types tool in Indy Admin allows you to create and manage the types of vouchers you offer to customers. Voucher types determine how vouchers are issued, redeemed, and reported, and they can apply to tickets, items, activities, or packages.

🧭 Where to Find It

Navigate to:

Settings → Promotions → Voucher Types

🎟️ What Are Voucher Types?

  • Define the different types of vouchers your cinema can issue or sell

  • Control how vouchers are redeemed and what they apply to

  • Set expiration dates, reporting names, and redemption limits

🧾 How Voucher Types Work

  1. Voucher Type Options

    • Voucher types can be created for:

      • Tickets

      • Items (concessions/merchandise)

      • Activities or Packages

    • Each selection offers different settings for redemption and restrictions

  2. Price & Value Settings

    • Set a minimum price (what the voucher can be purchased for)

    • Set a maximum value it can be redeemed for

    • Decide whether to apply tax

  3. Expiry Settings

    • Set expiry periods in months or years

  4. Style & Branding

    • Add a name, description, and small image

    • Optionally attach voucher cards for physical fulfilment (name these if part of a package)

  5. Redemption Options

    • Define how the voucher is redeemed (online, POS, both)

    • Set redemption limits (e.g., number of uses)

    • Decide if the voucher:

      • Has a points cost or reward value (for loyalty schemes)

      • Is available for sale

      • Is service issue only (e.g., compensating customers for disruptions)

  6. Restrictions

    • Limit vouchers to:

      • Specific showings, movies, or item categories

      • Date ranges

      • Conditions such as time of day

    • Restrictions adapt depending on whether it’s an Item or Ticket voucher

  7. Reporting

    • Assign a reporting name for vouchers applied to tickets

    • Minimum and maximum values can also be included in Distributor Box Office Reports

🧠 Best Practice

  • Use clear and descriptive names for each voucher type

  • Ensure restrictions are reviewed carefully to avoid misapplication

  • Always assign a reporting name for ticket vouchers so distributor reports remain accurate
