The Indy Point of Sale (POS) system allows you to quickly sell tickets, apply memberships, select seats, and process payments.

🧭 Where to Find It

  • Access POS via your standard terminal login.

  • Tickets, sessions, and all sales tools are on the main screen.

🎟️ How to Purchase Tickets at POS

  1. Select the Film & Session

    • The base screen shows all available films and their session times.

    • Tap the desired session time to start the transaction.

  2. Select Ticket Types

    • Default ticket types for the session will be displayed.

    • Additional tickets (e.g., membership-only discounts) are unlocked by:

      • Swiping a membership card, or

      • Searching and applying a customer user account.

  3. Add Tickets

    • Tap Add to select each ticket type.

    • Tap the plus icon (+) to increase quantity.

    • The order summary (right-hand side) will show a full breakdown.

  4. Select Seats (if applicable)

    • If your cinema has allocated seating, tap the Seats button.

    • Click to choose seats, moving them as necessary.

    • If you skip this step, the system will prompt you before payment.

  5. Proceed to Payment

    • Tap Pay when ready.

    • The payment screen shows:

      • Subtotal

      • Taxes

      • Total amount

  6. Split Payments (if needed)

    • Enable split payment to divide the amount across multiple payment types.

    • Use predefined split amounts or manually assign amounts to items.

  7. Process Payment

    • Card Payments:

      • Tap your site’s primary card processor (usually Stripe, or Windcave in Australia).

      • The card terminal will prompt the customer to tap or insert their card.

    • Cash Payments:

      • Enter the amount tendered or use quick cash buttons.

      • The system will display the change due.

  8. Complete the Order

    • Tap Place Order.

    • Cash drawer opens and tickets print automatically.

🧠 Best Practice

  • Always confirm seat selection before processing payments in allocated seating cinemas.

  • For membership customers, swipe or assign the user before ticket selection to unlock all eligible ticket types.

  • Use split payments for customers paying with a mix of cash, card, or vouchers.
