The Concessions tab in Indy Point of Sale (POS) allows you to sell drinks, snacks, and hot food individually or as part of a combined transaction with tickets.

🧭 Where to Find It

  • From the POS main screen, select a Concessions tab (at the bottom of the screen).

  • You can switch to this tab at any time, even during a ticket sale, to include concessions and tickets in a single transaction.

🍿 How to Sell Concessions

  1. Open the Concessions Tab

    • If POS defaults to Tickets, switch to the Concessions tab.

  2. Select Items

    • Items may be organised by categories (e.g., Drinks, Hot Food, Sweets) or displayed individually.

    • Tap the desired item:

      • Choose the size (e.g., small, medium, large) if applicable.

      • Add notes if needed (e.g., "no ice").

  3. Apply Options

    • Apply discounts automatically (e.g., member discounts) if configured.

    • Set a pickup time:

      • Immediate counter pickup, or

      • Delayed pickup (e.g., at a specific time during the film).

  4. Delivery Locations (if enabled)

    • For dine-in or seat delivery:

      • Select the delivery location (seat number)

      • Specify the desired delivery time

  5. Add Items to the Order

    • Tap Add to add items to the transaction.

    • The order summary (right-hand side) will update with your selections.

🔥 Hot Food & Modifiers

  • Some hot food items use modifiers:

    • Add or remove components (e.g., swap chips & salsa for fries)

    • Modifiers may have different surcharges

  • Tap Add once all modifiers are selected, and the item will appear in the order summary.

💳 Finalise the Sale

  1. When all items are added:

    • Tap Pay to proceed to the payment screen

    • Or add to a tab if using the tab feature

  2. Payment

    • Select payment method:

      • Card via Stripe or Windcave (AU only)

      • Cash (quick cash buttons available)

      • Other configured manual payment types

    • Complete the transaction

  3. Counter Pickup

    • For standard concessions sales, items will be collected at the counter

    • Delivery instructions will be visible to staff if delivery options were selected

🧠 Best Practice

  • Always confirm modifiers and delivery location before finalising.

  • Combine tickets and concessions into a single order where possible for convenience.

  • Ensure staff understand how to handle delayed pickup and seat delivery instructions.
