Categories help group and organise concession items on both your Point of Sale (POS) and your online storefront. Whether it's "Food," "Drinks," or "Snacks," assigning items to categories makes browsing and selection quicker for staff and customers.
🔧 How to Configure Categories
📍 Where to Find It
Indy Admin > Settings > Concessions > Categories
➕ Creating a New Category
Click Create Category
Fill in the following details:
Name (e.g. Food, Drinks, Snacks)
Image – upload by clicking or dragging a file into the image box
Available Online – toggle if the category should appear online
Alcohol Acknowledgement – toggle for any category that includes alcoholic items (e.g. Beer or Wine), to prompt an age check
📅 Restriction Settings
You can control when and how a category appears using advanced filters:
Date Range
Show a category only during a specific window (e.g. seasonal menu)
Toggle “Exclude” to hide the category outside the selected range
Delivery Type
Restrict category to specific fulfilment methods like Theatre Seat Delivery
Toggle “Exclude” to show the category for all delivery types except the one selected
Time of Day
Limit visibility based on operational hours or special time-based menus
Badges
Add visual indicators for limited-time offers, staff picks, etc.
📋 Organising Display Order
You can drag and drop categories to control how they appear to the user
This order reflects both in your POS and online menu
🍿 Example
Food → Popcorn, Nachos, Cake
Drinks → Soda, Juice, Wine
Late Night Snacks → Only visible 9 PM–Midnight
