You can manage and create items for your cinema’s point-of-sale and website within Item Settings, found under:

Indy Admin → Settings → Concessions → Items

🔧 Creating or Editing an Item

Each item can be configured with a range of settings:

Name: Internal name for the item.

Display Name: The name shown to customers on your website or Customer-Facing Display.

Abbreviation: A 4-character label used when no image is provided.

Image: Upload or drag-and-drop an image to display on POS buttons and the website.

Description: Appears on the POS and website for clarity.

🛒 Sales Options

Available Online: Toggle to allow the item to be sold via your online store.

⚠️ The item’s category must also be marked as available online.

Featured: Highlights the item separately on the website.

Allow Custom Price: Enables staff to input a custom price at POS.

💰 Taxes

Assign one or more tax types to the item.

You can configure different taxes per site when using a shared item library.

📦 Source & Delivery Settings

Source Location: Tells the system where the item is prepared (e.g. Kitchen).

This ensures:

Orders are routed correctly (e.g. print slip or KDS alert).

Accurate delivery handling if prep time is required.

Requires Preparation: Flag items needing preparation time.

Preparation Time: Helps coalesce orders to deliver together.

⚙️ Advanced Controls

Override Dialog Control: Skips the POS prompt; item is added instantly.

Disable Sales: Prevent the item from being sold.

🧾 Item Class & Display Category

Item Class: Used for reporting and applying discounts (e.g. "Drinks", "Popcorn").

Display Categories:

Group items for online checkout and POS register grids.

Automatically adds/removes items from the POS if assigned a category.

🍿 Variations & Modifiers

Item Variations

Useful for items with different sizes (e.g. Popcorn):

Set Name, Description, Barcode, Sale Price, and Cost.

Optionally disable individual variations from sale.

Modifier Sets

Allow customers to choose options like:

Burger toppings

Soda flavors

Nacho dips

You can:

Set Min/Max selection requirements

Preselect modifiers

Add upcharges for premium options

Modifier sets are created separately in the Modifier Sets section, then assigned to items here.

✅ Summary

Item Settings is your one-stop area to control how items appear, behave, and are sold in INDY. From visual display to prep logic, every aspect can be tailored to your cinema’s needs.
