Ticket types define the categories of tickets you sell at your cinema, such as Adult, Child, Senior, Member, or Special Promo. Each ticket type has configurable rules for pricing, eligibility, restrictions, and availability.

You can manage ticket types under: Indy Admin → Settings → Site → Ticket Types

➕ Creating Ticket Types

You have two ways to get started:

1. Add from Library

  • INDY provides a selection of pre-built ticket types.

  • Select one or multiple templates.

  • Click "Add Ticket Types from Library" to import them.

  • Once added, you can edit pricing and rules to suit your setup.

2. Create from Scratch

Click "Create Ticket Type" to open the new ticket dialog.

Required Fields:

  • Ticket Name – Internal name used for admin purposes.

  • Base Price – Pre-tax price. Final price may be adjusted by taxes, discounts, or modifiers.

Optional Fields & Settings:

  • Excluded Ratings – Prevent this ticket from being used for specific film ratings (e.g. restrict Child ticket from R-rated content).

  • User Class Restriction – Limit use to a user group like Seniors, Students, or Staff.

  • Membership Restriction – Limit ticket to users with a specific membership type.

  • Custom Display Name – Override the ticket name shown on the POS and website.

  • Requires Authorization – Requires a manager PIN at POS to complete the sale.

  • Seat Chart Area Restriction – Tie this ticket to a group of seats (e.g. Balcony, Accessible).

  • Availability – Enable for:

    • POS only

    • Online only

    • Both POS and online

Click "Create Ticket" to finish setup.

✏ Editing and Managing Ticket Types

After creation, ticket types can be edited at any time. Simply:

  • Click the ticket from the list

  • Adjust pricing, restrictions, or display names

  • Save changes

Action Menu Options:

  • Duplicate – Create a copy of the ticket to reuse settings

  • Delete – Permanently remove the ticket (only possible if no sales exist)

  • Archive – Retires the ticket while preserving historical data

⚠️ Tickets with historical sales cannot be deleted. Use archive instead.

To access archived ticket types:

  • Click the "Archived" tab

  • View, reactivate, or duplicate old ticket types as needed
