The Screens section in Indy Admin allows you to configure each auditorium in your venue, assigning capacity, seat charts, pricing rules, and scheduling buffers. Whether your site uses reserved or unreserved seating, this section controls how each screen functions on your POS and online.
π§ Where to Find It
Navigate to:
Settings β Site β Screens
π¬ Creating or Editing a Screen
Click Create Screen to begin. Youβll be prompted to configure the following:
ποΈ General Information
Screen Name β e.g. Screen 1, IMAX Theatre
Location Group β assign to a food & beverage area (for dine-in ordering)
Showing Badges β tag for screen format (e.g. 3D, IMAX, Dolby Atmos)
Custom Price Card β assign a dedicated price card for all showings in this screen
πͺ Reserved vs Unreserved Seating
Reserved Seating
Toggle "Reserved Seating" on
Select a Seat Chart (must be created in advance β see Seat Charts documentation)
Unreserved Seating
Set:
Capacity (total seat count)
Held Seat Count β seats withheld from public sale
Marathon Seat Count β reserved for special events (e.g. double features)
β± Scheduling Buffers
Each screen can have custom buffers to help manage show flow and turnaround:
Buffer Type | Purpose |
Pre-Start Time Buffer | House open time (e.g. lights up, music playing) |
Post-Start Time Buffer | Ads + trailers period (e.g. 15 mins average) |
Post-Showing Buffer | Cleanup and reset time between shows |
π These buffers are added to the runtime of a scheduled showing and impact scheduling logic.
π Ticketing Limits
Optionally override max tickets per order per showing (e.g. limit to 5 tickets for IMAX fairness)
Rarely used, but available per screen if needed
π’ Screen Numbering and Order
After creating screens:
Assign screen numbers (e.g. Screen 1, 2, 3) for accurate reporting
Use drag-and-drop to reorder screens for display purposes
π§ Pro Tip
If you're using reserved seating, always create and assign your seat chart first. Seat charts are required before toggling reserved seating on.
